Competition Shortlist

The daily exchanges and communal cohesion, are the main assets of any slum settlement. The objective of this design was to tackle the lack of open space and design a piece of community furniture that could adapt within the existing context. To heighten the bond and create a sense of belonging in these spatial constraints, an intervention in the form of wall is accentuated in the houses and tiny pockets of the neighbourhood. The idea of a wall was broken down using Lego blocks. Inspired by this, two interlocking modules were proposed. The modules are made of light recycled plastic which could be stacked, flipped, rotated and arranged to form infinite user-friendly possibilities.
