The project aimed at transforming an existing structure/’NAVE’ into a Polivalent creative and stay space. The structure is present among the group of buildings in ‘La Vila’ which is a countryside retreat sandwiched between a hill and farmland in Olot, Spain. Here water became a perpetual element of connection. Time left its mark on La Vila as life happened following the rhythm of the strata of the horizon. The nave exists as a void, the missing link in the experimental and intellectual search. Primary understanding from the site and program led to the concept of ‘essential living’. Only the spaces that demand the essentials of living can give rise to a deep consciousness of human needs and actions of creativity. The project was intervened directing the water of the precinct into the structure, as an element that consciously erodes the space in its most preliminary existence and ultimately joins back to nature to complete the broken loop.
