Theme: Climate Refugees of Sinking islands
Collaborative research

Sea level rise is one of the most severe impacts of climate change, with rising waters threatening to inundate small-island nations and coastal regions by the end of the century. This research project aims to study the low lying island of Kutubdia in Bangladesh which has one of the fastest rising sea levels across the planet at 8 mm per year, directly affecting the land and the coast. Further, the project speculates on a parallel yet converging narrative of two alarming scenarios, rise in sea level and climate refugees, where one is the repercussion of the other.
